 rong><em>More about the film:</em></strong></p><p>The “Black Men in White C
 oats” documentary dissects the systemic barriers preventing black men from 
 becoming medical doctors and the consequences on society at large.</p><p>Fe
 wer black men applied to medical school in 2014 than in 1978. Only two perc
 ent of American doctors are black men\, and black men have the lowest life 
 expectancy in the United States. The Black Men in White Coats initiative fo
 rmed to increase the number of black men in the field of medicine through e
 xposure\, inspiration and mentoring.</p>
