AWAM is seeking nominations for a new prestigious DOM award for supporting and promoting women’s career advancement at Washington University School of Medicine – the first annual AWAM Leader in Empowerment and Development (LEAD) Award — to be presented after the upcoming 2nd Annual DOM Women in Medicine and Science Seminar, which will be held on Friday April 28th, 2023, from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. The award is open to all DOM faculty and will be awarded according to faculty level (i.e. one award will be given to a faculty at the Instructor/Assistant Professor level, and another to a faculty at the Associate Professor/Professor level).
Nominees should be DOM faculty members who have demonstrated transformational leadership qualities as a sponsor, mentor, or collaborator, or who have challenged, motivated, or inspired others to advance their career. Letters of nomination should be from women faculty members who have received the benefit of the nominee’s support and should include specific details of how the nominee has supported the career development and advancement of women at all levels at WashU. Letters of nomination should also be accompanied by one (for instructor/assistant level) to two (for associate level and above) letters of support. Support letters may come from women trainees who have significantly benefited from interaction with the nominees. We encourage nominations of women.
