The Mentorship to Enhance Diversity in Academia (MEDA) Program in collaboration with the Washington University Black Postdoc Society hosted Jacqui Hawkins, PhD for their February 28th Career Seminar. Dr. Hawkins is the Director for Scientific Training of Physician-Scientists. Dr. Hawkins talked about her career journey and provided advice on choosing alternate career paths.
On April 18th, we hosted Dineo Khabele, MD. Dr. Khabele is the Department Chair for Obstetrics and Gynecology. She discussed her non linear journey, the importance of an Academic wardrobe, and provided us with great advice including “You Gotta Be Ready, So You Don’t Have to Get Ready”.
