OUTmed Ongoing Programming General Meetings –
For Department of Medicine, Dr. Dao hosts a 1-hour LGBTQIA+ Inclusion Workshop that is modifiable to your needs. Please email Jennifer Mosher (mosherj@wustl.edu) to schedule.
Topics include:
- Understand the definitions of diversity, equity, access, and inclusion, and apply these definitions to how inclusion affects diversity, equity, and access
- Brainstorm ways to promote inclusion in your department
- Understand the importance of using correct pronouns; practice using nonbinary pronouns and how to respond after misgendering someone
- Practice using patient centered language
- Review strategies on how to make the workplace more LGBTQIA+ friendly
- Recruitment, Retention, and Promotion
- Collecting Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity data
- Reviewing LGBTQIA+ Healthcare disparities
