OUTmed Ongoing Programming General Meetings –
For Department of Medicine, Dr. Dao hosts a 1-hour LGBTQIA+ Inclusion Workshop that is modifiable to your needs. Please email Jennifer Mosher (mosherj@wustl.edu) to schedule.

Topics include: 

  • Understand the definitions of diversity, equity, access, and inclusion, and apply these definitions to how inclusion affects diversity, equity, and access 
  • Brainstorm ways to promote inclusion in your department 
  • Understand the importance of using correct pronouns; practice using nonbinary pronouns and how to respond after misgendering someone 
  • Practice using patient centered language 
  • Review strategies on how to make the workplace more LGBTQIA+ friendly 
  • Recruitment, Retention, and Promotion 
  • Collecting Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity data 
  • Reviewing LGBTQIA+ Healthcare disparities

    All faculty, trainees (fellows, residents, graduate students, and undergraduate medical students), and staff were invited for a networking event of getting to know out faculty and School of Medicine allies. 
  • OUTmentor Workshop – 
    Wednesday, October 5, 2022
    5:30-7:30pm
    OUTmed held a night of round table discussions where queer faculty lead discussions regarding LGBTQIA+ people in the workplace, like how to deal with microaggressions, intersectionality, spousal hires, and being “out” at work.

    September 24, 2022 – Partnered with LGBTQ+med
  • SQHS Night at Steve’s Hotdogs
    Tuesday, September 27, 2022.  Fundraiser for the St. Louis Queer+ Support Helpline.  A portion of dine-in and carryout sales were donated to SQSH. 
  • “Queerer” Mentorship Workshop
    Facilitated by Dr. Noor Riaz, and Dr. Snehal Shah
